Prepare yourself well for the Interview. This means you should dress nicely and show up for the interview on time. Study the job-description thoroughly and become familiar with what the company does through the company’s homepage.
Often asked questions:
- Could you briefly describe your career?
- What exactly are you doing in your current position?
- What do you especially like about your current position? What do you dislike?
- Why are you looking for a new opportunity?
- What caught your attention when you read the job description?
- What do you know about our company?
- What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
- Why do you think you are the right person for this position?
- Which of the jobs you have had did you like the most? Why?
- How would you describe your strengths? What about your weaknesses?
- Do you have experience leading a team?
- How would you describe your work style or approach on a day-to-day basis?
- Do you enjoy working as part of a team or do you prefer to work alone?
- In the past, how have you dealt with failure?
- Do you have other job opportunities?

Not allowed questions:
By law, in Switzerland HR professionals are not free to ask any question they want. However, on occasion, questions that are not permitted are asked.
In general you do not have to answer questions related to:
- Religion or membership in a political party.
- Your interest in marriage, sexual preference and who your friends are – although they may ask whether you are single or married.
- Pregnancy.
- Any question regarding your health - if it has no influence on your work performance.
